Our selection of a stallion is based on his possession of substantial bone and muscle, overall balance, great depth, and a beautiful head. Most important to us, he must be a dependable riding horse, with the mind to work willingly until the work is finished. Then, he must also sire those traits. With the sudden loss of Red Roan Raider, we now focus on our up and coming junior stallions. Inquiries are always welcome.

We bred this mare several times to Leo Hancock Hayes hoping for a filly. Each time, she produced a colt. This colt's older full brother is being used in a breeding program in WY. You will see his younger full brother listed below.

We purchased this colt primarily due to his dam. We hope this colt continues her legacy and produces as well as our expectations. He is currently registered as a dun, but with no dorsal or leg barring, we need to get that changed to buckskin.
We like how this horse is maturing. His two older, full brothers, are both being used in breeding programs, as well. His dam was one of our best mares and finally gave us one filly the year she passed away. We look forward to using this horse.

One of few stallions that exemplifies all the traits we find most important: bone, muscle, balance, and the ability AND willingness to work all day. A sizable stallion, at 1400 pounds, his many hours under saddle well prove his correct form. We have retained several of his daughters for our program.

With 43.75% Blue Valentine, blended with the blood of Leo, through his son Rip Rip, this stallion passes on his keen head and good bone. Crossing well on Hancock mares, as well as outcross mares, his colts are riding well and his daughters will produce their first foals in 2008.

Red Roan Raider was the only Blue Valentine grandson who was also high percentage Joe Hancock...his death is surely a loss for every breeder that wants to stay within the Joe Hancock bloodline.
